Description

The Safe Space Program is a training presentation designed to educate persons who serve the general student population and build a network of allies across campus who are knowledgeable and supportive of the LGBT community. The initial training is divided into three sections, understanding ourselves, understanding others and exploring what it means to be an ally.

After completing the training, participants will receive a "Safe Space" sign to display in their offices. These easily recognizable signs provide a brief explanation of their purpose.

Organized by

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center provides an inclusive and educational environment for the campus community and the greater St. Cloud area.

We recognize that identities in our global community intersect with and impact our daily experiences of gender and sexuality with race, ethnicity, class, ability, age, culture, and all social systems.  We are committed to social justice as we foster student development and personal growth, and we cultivate an inclusive, open, and supportive community through education, collaboration, advocacy and programming.

The LGBT Resource Center strives to promote full inclusion of LGBT+ folk and allies at St. Cloud State as well as work to intersectionally dismantle prejudice, discrimination and oppression towards and within the LGBT+ community.
